EID-UL-AZHA

Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10 of Zilhajj according to the Islamic calendar.On this day;the Muslims  slaughter goat;sheep,cows,buffaloes and camels for ALLAH .This day reminds us of the great sacrifice of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim .One night Hazrat Ibrahim had a dream.He saw that he was slaughtering  his beloved son,Hazrat Ismail , for ALLAH .Next morning,he shared the dream with his son . Hazrat Ismail said that he was ready to lay down his life for ALLAH.                      .He thought  it was the will of ALLAH.He could not go against it.Hazrat  Ibrahim had great love for his son.But he decided to sacrifice him for ALLAH.He took him to an open place.He covered his own eyes with piece of cloth.He put a knife on neck of his son with great courage.He began to slaughter ,however when he uncovered his eyes,he saw that there was a ram in his place.His son was standing alive before him.Actually,it was a test of prophet. Hazrat Ibrahim was successful in it.He thanked ALLAH.The muslims follow the Sunnah of their great prophet.On the day of Eid-ul-Azha,they slaughter animals in the name of ALLAH.They do so to keep the memory of that great sacrifice fresh in their minds.They want to show  that they can everything sacrifice for ALLAH.They distribute the meat of the animals among their relatives and the poor.The great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim teaches us lesson.We should be ready to sacrifice everything for ALLAH.He will give us great reward in return.
